The Izzy Foundation gives $500 academic scholarships every year to kids and young adults affected by childhood cancer — and yes, siblings count too. Awards are renewable for up to three years, and the money goes directly to your school's bursar office, not to you personally. They have two tracks.
The K-12 track is for current pediatric cancer patients, survivors, or siblings under 25 who are in elementary through high school. The college track is for the same group but enrolled in or accepted to an accredited undergraduate program.
Bereaved siblings are welcome to apply for both. You must have been diagnosed by age 18 and be a US citizen attending school in the US.To apply you'll need a letter of recommendation and a short essay about your academic and career goals.
Younger K-12 kids can submit a drawing or video instead. Applications open March 1 and close hard on May 1 at 8pm EST — don't miss that deadline.
Apply for K-12 at theizzyfoundation.org/scholarship and for college at the same page, both forms are there.Awards are announced by July 19th. If accepted, you must submit an acceptance form by October 1st or you forfeit the award.
Funds are distributed by January 31st each year.Questions? Call 📞 (401) 331-4999 or email 📧 hello@theizzyfoundation.org.
