About This Resource
Resource Stats
Special Love provides camps, financial help, and scholarships specifically for childhood cancer families. Their Camp Fantastic serves kids ages 7-17 with cancer, giving them a chance to just be kids away from hospitals and treatment. They also run BRASS camps for siblings, helping them cope with the family trauma of having a brother or sister with cancer.
The organization offers emergency financial assistance to help families with treatment-related expenses when money gets tight. They also provide educational scholarships for young adult cancer survivors who are ready to move forward with college or career goals. Family weekend programs help parents and kids reconnect during the chaos of cancer treatment. Since 1983, they've been serving families from the Washington DC area and beyond through their partnership with the National Cancer Institute.
