Your child gets a full week of free summer camp designed specifically for kids with chronic illnesses, including cancer. Camp Carefree in Stokesdale, North Carolina has been doing this since 1986 for kids ages 6 to 16, and they know exactly how to make camp safe and fun for children dealing with serious health conditions.
What makes this even better is they also run separate camp weeks for healthy siblings of sick kids, so your whole family gets support. They even have a special week for children who have a sick parent.
The camp is completely free and they handle everything to make sure your child can just be a kid for a week. The staff understands medical needs and creates an environment where children with cancer, spina bifida, epilepsy and other conditions can experience all the joy of summer camp without worry.
