The Sunshine Foundation grants dreams and wishes to children ages 3-18 who have severe physical, developmental, or intellectual challenges or trauma from abuse, with families having limited income. They provide two types of dreams: Special Dreams like family trips, shopping sprees, adaptive medical equipment, swimming pools, outdoor play equipment, and sensory rooms, and Magical Dreams which are mostly trips to Central Florida theme parks including Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, and Legoland.
They even have their own Dream Village in Davenport, Florida with nine fairy tale-themed cottages where families can stay during their theme park dreams, complete with a heated pool, mini-golf, and playground. The foundation has granted over 41,900 dreams and specifically serves families who cannot afford these experiences on their own due to their child's medical challenges.
