If your child is 18 or older and facing cancer one of the hardest things they will deal with is feeling completely alone. Most cancer support is built for older adults or little kids. Cactus Cancer Society was built specifically for the in-between β young adults ages 18 to 45 who are battling cancer and need a community that actually gets it. Everything they offer is free and fully online so it does not matter where your family lives.
What they provide is not just support groups β it is a whole world of creative and emotional wellness programs designed to help young adults cope, connect, and feel like themselves again. Participants have shown statistically significant reductions in anxiety, depression, loneliness, and psychological distress after joining. That is not marketing language β that is from a published clinical study.
Some of the programs your young adult can join include monthly art workshops covering sketching, painting, jewelry making, and more, journaling workshops led by a licensed clinical social worker and certified journal therapist, yoga nidra meditation classes, a book club, a creative arts book club where they are the author and illustrator, doodle drop-in sessions, a guys-only discussion group, a young adult cancer hangout that meets monthly for casual conversation, and an anonymous advice column called Ask Perrie where no question is off limits.
All programs are virtual and free. To sign up go here: π jotform.com/build/252036341701142
