Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation helps childhood cancer families pay their bills when cancer is draining everything you have. Founded by Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo after he beat Hodgkin lymphoma at 18, the foundation gives direct grants to cover mortgage, rent, utilities, and everyday expenses so you can focus on your kid getting better instead of losing your house.Right now they're only accepting applications from families in Florida, New York, Illinois, and New Jersey.
They also pay for kids with cancer and their siblings to go to summer camp, host special events at places like amusement parks and baseball stadiums so kids can just be kids for a day, and fund child life specialists at major children's hospitals who help families cope emotionally. You apply online through their website. Different application processes depending on which state you're in.
They also send personalized encouragement letters to cancer patients and deliver care packages to families.
