This statewide clearinghouse connects families across New Jersey to local support groups, including specialized groups for childhood cancer, rare diseases, and family caregivers. They maintain a comprehensive database of self-help support groups in all 21 New Jersey counties and can help you find the right peer support network near you.
The clearinghouse also offers free workshops and training on starting and running support groups if one doesn't exist in your area yet. Their staff provides education, training, and ongoing support to help groups succeed. They've been connecting New Jersey families to mutual aid and peer support since 1984, funded by the state's Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
